Bradley Mountain celebrates grand opening of flagship store

About 250 community members celebrated the grand opening of the first flagship store for Bradley Mountain, a San Diego-based company handcrafting high-quality leather and canvas bags and accessories for adventurous living, on Friday, July 13. The new shop is inside the same warehouse where all Bradley Mountain products are made, which is located in the East Village at 710 17th St.

“I am so proud of what we have been creating in our workshop for the last six years,” said Tyler Axtell, founder of Bradley Mountain. “It is a pleasure to finally open our doors to the San Diego community. Our retail store is the doormat to our workshop, the entry point into our world.”

Prior to the event, there was a leather workshop where people were able to make a wallet, valet tray, keychain, eyewear case or journal with the guidance of a Bradley Mountain craftsman.

At the main event, attendees were able to enjoy food from the Born in Brooklyn food truck and drinks from Old Harbor Distillery, Bivouac Ciderworks, Slow & Low Whiskey and Outsider Cellars, which were served by Moniker General, while listening to music by Sunburnt Reynolds from Aloha Beach Club. Bradley Mountain also hosted Whisky Locker, Shaper Studios and Imperfects, which displayed their skills and goods.

“It has been a long-term dream of ours to one day allow folks to come into our workspace, shop for goods, grab a whiskey and see where it is all made. It finally came true!” said Axtell. “We will be throwing lots of events, hosting workshops and be open for business during the week for shopping! If you find yourself in San Diego, please visit us!”

The Bradley Mountain store is open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
