My daughter, Emily, is soon opening a restaurant near the border of Hillcrest & Bankers Hill at Fourth & Brooks named Sisters Pizza. As the name implies, Emily’s motivation and inspiration for creating this restaurant is based on the memories and relationship she and her deceased sister, Kate, shared including their love of pizza. As the father of these two ladies, I unabashedly feel that this is a compelling and inspirational story which is worth sharing and which, hopefully, will be an engrossing human interest story as well, attracting a multitude of your readers to your magazine and to Sisters Pizza. As a former hair salon in a 1930s historic building, Sisters Pizza has been under construction for the past 18 months and Emily is about to announce its Grand Opening. FYI – Emily Green has been immersed in the community for 15 years and has advocated AGAINST Human Trafficking, FOR At Risk youth and has created a Mentor Program for high school foster students where she was a Literacy teacher and administrator for the only Foster High School in the country. She is also the incoming president of the Junior League of San Diego where her term starts in July. I am Emily’s dad and I am glowing with pride as write about her and her sister. I ask as a loving, skewed, arbitrary and caring father to consider publishing this story because my daughter would never do it herself!
